ABOUT

JEANET INGWERSEN

I am Jeanet and I am a potter based in the North East where my handmade pottery is made in my little studio in the Townhouse in the fabulous Sunniside part of Sunderland. I was born in Denmark and grew up in Norway from the age of seven. I came to the UK in 1995 to go to university and I've been here ever since.

My ceramic journey started when I was a child, messing around with clay. A few years ago I did a local wheel throwing course and things got serious. I loved making pots on the wheel and was immediately addicted. Since then, I have been making ceramics as a hobby and have recently started up as a small business.

My pots are inspired by my background in Denmark and Norway. I like to think that my work has the practical yet elegant style typically seen in Scandinavian design. Each pot is unique in it's own way and I always have the Scandi hygge in mind when I’m at the wheel. â€‹
